10 years old and we are finalists again!

It is astounding how far we have come in such a short space of time!  This year, we are in the RHS Britain In Bloom finals for the second time and have racked up some impressive achievements, including six regional Gold awards, the North West’s Best Large Town trophy 2023 and a Silver Gilt award at the Britain In Bloom finals in 2017.

Formed in 2014 by Altrincham Community Team, Altrincham In Bloom soon blossomed into a separate not-for-profit entity known as a Community Interest Company. Registered with Companies House for transparency and accountability, the organisation is entirely voluntary, self-funded and inclusive in attitude. We have 13 projects in around Altrincham Town Centre which have either been newly created or reclaimed as green spaces and subsequently improved.

If you would like to support Altrincham In Bloom with a one-off donation or small monthly standing order, our bank details are as follows: Altrincham In Bloom CIC, 51-61-11, 77564286.

We work hard to encourage, support and inspire the creation of new ‘In Bloom’ groups across Trafford.

As well as seeking to constantly improve the environment in Altrincham, we work hard to encourage, support and inspire the creation of new ‘In Bloom’ groups across Trafford. They happily now include Timperley In Bloom, Stretford In Bloom, Urmston In Bloom, Ashton on Mersey In Bloom, Sale Town In Bloom and most recently, Hale U3A Gardeners.

It’s going to be a very big year for us, not just because we’re in the UK finals but also as our finances are in very poor shape. Rebuilding our fundraising activities since the pandemic has been a bit hit-and-miss to say the least. It is very much an uphill battle to raise funds as well all the creative and physical work involved in bringing new projects to fruition and maintaining all of the existing ones. We keep plugging away though!

The RHS Britain In Bloom finals 2024 will be held at Old Trafford Football Ground’s Conference Centre on October 21st.
